Biography

One of the pioneers in the studies of gut microbiota and host metabolism and the impact of the gut microbiota in metabolic disease. He currently heads a research group consisting of 30 scientists at different levels at University of Gothenburg, is appointed professor at University of Copenhagen and guest Professor at University of Oslo. Professor Bäckhed has co-authored >80 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, many of which are in high- impact journals such as Nature, Science, Cell and Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences.
